Rick Owens Olmar And Mirta Jacket
This one’s got that waterfall front Rick Owens does so often, draped open instead of closing up neat. The leather’s a worn charcoal grey, already looks broken in even fresh out of the packaging, collar just falls open on its own and the panels don’t line up evenly down the front. Nothing symmetrical about it on purpose one side sits lower than the other, lapel’s open, jacket looks like it wants to move rather than hang still.
At a Glance
- Waterfall drape front, hem uneven side to side
- Charcoal grey leather, distressed matte finish
- Collar sits open, no real closure at the neck
- Two zip pockets low on the hips
- Sleeves fitted, nothing baggy through the arms
Leather Finish & Texture
Leather’s beat up in a good way. Some creasing already there, surface has a dusty, matte look to it, not shiny or stiff like new leather usually is. That worn texture is honestly doing a lot of the visual work here since the actual cut isn’t oversized or heavy, it’s pretty lean through the body and arms.
Open-Front Construction
There’s no button, no zip up front. That’s not an oversight, it’s how it’s meant to be worn, wide open. Hem drops lower on one side depending how you’re standing or moving, higher on the other. It shifts a bit as you wear it, which is part of the point.
Styling It Right
Throw it over a plain tee or something fitted like a turtleneck, give the drape room to actually fall right. Wouldn’t put it over a hoodie or a thick knit, gets bulky fast and kills the shape. Slim base layer works better underneath.
Care
- Keep it away from water, it’s leather
- Take it to a leather cleaner, don’t wash at home
- Hang it on something wide, not a thin wire hanger
- Away from heat and direct sun for storage
- Condition it every so often so it doesn’t dry out or crack
