Rick Owens Denim Jacket
Fading is the whole story on this one. Heavy, uneven, concentrated at the chest and along the seams the kind of wear that usually takes years to build up naturally, done here on purpose. Classic trucker shape underneath all that distressing, nothing unusual about the cut itself.
The Wash
Grey-green tones dominate where the fading’s heaviest, with darker denim still holding on around the collar and cuffs. No two panels fade quite the same way, which is the point — this is meant to look like a jacket that’s already lived a life before you got it.
What’s On It
- Cotton denim, heavy grey wash and fading
- Classic trucker collar and button front
- Twin chest pockets with button flaps
- Side welt pockets at the waist
- Adjustable button tabs at the hem
Wearing It
Faded denim like this works best kept simple underneath a plain black tee or hoodie lets the jacket’s wash do the talking. Pairs fine over straight Rick Owens Pants, or with a Rick Owens Shirt layered under if it’s colder out. On feet, the Rick Owens Sneakers keep things low-key, though Rick Owens Boots hold up better if you’re rougher on your clothes.
Looking After It
Wash cold and inside out, as little as possible the fading’s already set, and more washing just risks fading it further than intended. Skip the dryer, since heat can shrink denim unevenly. Air dry flat or on a hanger. Iron on a low setting if needed, avoiding direct contact with any of the metal buttons.
