Rick Owens Double Layer Shirt
Off-white long sleeve, fits close to the body, ribbing at the neck and again at the cuffs where it pulls in tighter than the rest of the shirt. Thin fabric, thin enough that you can actually see it creasing and bunching a bit around the torso in the photo, just from normal movement.
Quick Specs
- Ribbed crew neck
- Fitted through the body
- Ribbed cuffs
- Off-white, lightweight fabric
- Long sleeves
Why It’s Called Double Layer
There’s a second thin layer underneath the main one, that’s the whole point of the name. It’s why the shirt clings and wrinkles slightly instead of hanging flat like a regular single-layer tee would. Adds a bit of texture and weight to it without actually making it bulky.
Fabric
Knit’s thin, drapes soft, doesn’t really hold any shape on its own. Color reads more raw or undyed than a bright white, matches up with the ribbing at the cuffs and neck pretty closely.
Close enough fit that it works as a base layer under something thicker, or just on its own with Rick Owens Pants in black or grey so the cream tone stands out a bit. Fine to wear alone too if it’s not too cold out.
Washing
- Hand wash or gentle cycle, cold water
- Lay flat, don’t wring it out
- Skip the bleach, keeps the off-white from going yellow
- Low iron only if it needs it
- Fold to store, hanging stretches the rib out over time
