Rick Owens Leather Pants
Straight leg leather pants in a deep brown-black, hard to tell which under most lighting. Button fly up top instead of the usual drawstring, and then zips everywhere after that, diagonal ones across both thighs, more running down near the knee and again lower at the ankle opening.
Details That Make the Difference
Count the zips and there’s a lot of them, four pairs at least between the thigh pockets and the ankle openings, all with the same metal pull tabs left hanging loose rather than tucked flat. Leather’s got a soft crease pattern already worked into it, catches light unevenly across the leg which gives it more depth than a flat matte finish would.
Construction
- Button fly closure
- Diagonal zip pockets, both thighs
- Additional zip detailing at knee and ankle
- Straight leg, no taper or flare
- Soft leather, visible natural creasing
Combination Options
Top stays simple with this one, a Rick Owens Shirt works fine, or a Rick Owens Jacket layered over if you want the leather doubled up top and bottom.
Ankle zips mean you can open the hem up over a boot without fighting the fabric, Rick Owens Boots or Rick Owens Doc Martens both work with that detail rather than against it.
Care
- Leather, keep away from water
- Professional leather cleaning only
- Don’t fold along the zip lines, hang instead
- Keep off direct heat and prolonged sun
- Condition every so often to stop the leather drying out
