Rick Owens Bauhaus Shorts
Wide cargo shorts, drawstring waist over a zip fly, drawstring cord long enough to hang well past the fly itself. Two big cargo pockets on the front, angled zips instead of straight ones, small buckle straps at the top of each pocket that look adjustable rather than decorative.
Quick Specs
- Front zip fly with drawstring waist
- Zip cargo pockets, both thighs, buckle straps
- Grommet eyelets, waistband and pockets
- Wide, relaxed fit
- Black technical fabric
Buckles and Grommets
Straps on the pockets have actual buckle hardware, small metal ones, which is different from most cargo shorts that just use a flap or button. Grommet eyelets show up in a few spots, waistband corners and near the pocket tops, more of that utility detailing running through the whole piece.
Fit
Cut’s wide through the leg, doesn’t taper at all, sits loose from the hip down to the hem. Fabric’s got a slight sheen, technical rather than a soft cotton, probably holds its shape better than a jersey material would in the heat.
Keep the top simple, a plain Rick Owens Shirt or Rick Owens Hoodie works fine without competing with all the pocket detail down below. On feet, Rick Owens Sneakers suit the technical fabric better than boots would here.
Care
- Machine wash cold
- No bleach
- Hang dry preferred
- Low iron if needed, avoid buckles and grommets directly
- Check buckle straps periodically for wear
