Rick Owens Black Babel Geobasket

The Babel takes the Geobasket shape and pushes it upward a tall, angled ankle collar that leans forward instead of sitting straight. Grey-black leather with a distressed finish covers most of it, and loose black threads hang near the front zip rather than being trimmed off. A side zip runs the full height, sitting above the Geobasket clear sole, worn and cracked-looking here instead of clean.

Why the Finish Looks Worn
That leaning ankle piece is the whole design idea, not a flaw. Rick Owens has leaned on raw edges and exposed construction across a lot of his work, so the loose threading fits that same approach. The distressed leather does the same job nothing about this boot is meant to look new.
