Rick Owens Combat Boots go heavy on the hardware brown suede laces against black leather, a side zip for quick access, and that oversized bumper toe that’s become a signature. Up top, a tall leather pull tab sticks above the ankle, almost like a spine down the back of each boot. It’s a boot that doesn’t hide any of its construction.

Design & Details

The mix of matte black leather with brown laces is what keeps this from looking like a standard combat boot small detail, but it changes the whole read. Eyelets run high up the shaft, and the reinforced toe adds real bulk up front without throwing off the proportions of the boot.

Material & Workmanship

Full-grain leather upper, stitched with visible double rows along the panels for durability. The sole unit is a separate rubber piece, deep-set with a heavy tread, built more for actually walking in than sitting in a box.

These sit well under raw denim or wide-leg trousers with a bit of a break at the ankle. Since the boot already carries a lot of detail laces, zip, toe cap keep the rest of the outfit fairly plain.
