Rick Owens Mainline Ramones​

This is the mainline Ramones, not the DRKSHDW version. Made in black leather with a tall padded cuff that goes well past the ankle. The cream toe and matching sole are the only break from all that black.

About the Leather

Mainline leather is thicker than the canvas DRKSHDW stuff. Feels stiff when it’s new. Give it some wear and the cuff starts to soften around your leg. The toe cap is rubber, glued on solid, not stitched. Sole’s got some weight to it too built to last, not just look good on day one.

Wear it with black trousers, slightly tucked in at the cuff. Or plain denim if you want more boot showing. Either way it’s tall enough on its own, no need to overdress around it.

Keeping It Nice

Leather needs a proper clean and condition every couple months, not just a wipe. The cuff will crack if you let it dry out too much. Stay away from water where you can if it gets wet, blot it, don’t rub. Sole picks up dirt fast, so wipe it with a damp cloth after a few wears or it’ll start looking yellow. Keep away from heaters when drying. Stuff the toe or use boot shapers when you’re not wearing them, so the leather holds its shape.
