Rick Owens Pod Shorts
Sarouel drop crotch, black cotton, comes down closer to the knee instead of stopping high on the thigh. Nothing on these at all, no pockets, no hardware, just the elastic waist and that natural drawstring hanging loose past the tie.
Seat drops low enough that you get an obvious sag of fabric between the legs just standing still, that’s the whole point of a cut like this. Length runs a bit fuller though, comes down further than a typical drop-crotch usually does.
Length
Ending closer to the knee instead of stopping high up gives these a fuller, more covered look even with how low the seat sits. Fabric just hangs the whole way, doesn’t fit close anywhere on the leg, no taper at all from the drop down to the hem.
Fit
- Elastic waistband, holds fine on its own without needing the drawstring pulled tight
- No taper anywhere, stays wide the whole way to the hem
- Loose through the entire leg, nothing fitted about the shape
Fabric Feel
Cotton, on the lighter side judging by how loosely it hangs in the photo. Matte black, nothing shiny, no real texture to speak of. Moves easy rather than holding any kind of stiff shape.
How To Wear Them
Cream or off-white sneakers pick up the tone of the drawstring nicely, similar to the styling shown here. Keep the top fitted since there’s already a lot going on below, a slim Rick Owens Shirt does that job well. Rick Owens Sneakers suit the relaxed length better than anything bulkier would.
Washing
- Cold wash, turn inside out
- Skip the bleach
- Hang dry, or tumble dry on low if you’re short on time
- Iron on low if needed
- Wash it alone the first time, just to be safe
